Douglas wakes up and he needs a hug. As he blunders about, trying to remember what he liked best about a cuddle, various owls, sheep and rabbits end up hysterically hugged. The illustrations, as always with David Melling, as just perfect and the expressions on the faces of the 'hugged' animals are very funny. Then, a kindly rabbit, leads Douglas to the best hug of all - his mummy. Very heart warming book. David Melling never disappoints and this is a fabulous bedtime story.

Another winner from David Melling with huge aaaahhhhh factor. Beautiful illustrations and heartwarming story, aimed at children but great for everyone!

My 3-year-old took this book out of her school library and it instantly became a family favorite. I had to eventually buy a copy for her so we could return hers to the school. It's short, uncomplicated story is a quick bedtime read and the hilarious attempts at finding a hug crack my daughter up every time. The illustrations are amazing. Would highly recommend this!

Lovely story
Excellent story for my 2 year old. She notices new things in the book each time. The board back format is lovely. And I usually get a big hug at the end!

Perfect all round
Gorgeous illustrations and a really lovely but simple story - perfect for my 3-year-old and me! We both especially love the drawings at the end of different types of hug.

LOVE the story, was hoping the bear would be a little bigger!

a book that appeals to boys and girls from 2 yrs upwards, as well as the mums and dads and grandparents. simple, amusing, and always a delight to read. in other words, it's genius!
