Format: Paperback
This is a weighty tome of 716 pages, packed with interesting facts about the buildings, people and organisations that have existed and been associated with Huddersfield - a Most Handsome West Riding Town. The various chapters are well written by a variety of contributors which makes for an interesting and informative read. It is ideal as a coffee table book, or for those intent on serious study. It is too large and heavy to be held in the hands for long periods of time, but there is nothing better than sitting at a table with the book and a cuppa for an interesting afternoons read. Each chapter is followed by supportive notes, and the index is comprehensive. If I need to know anything about Huddersfield - the Hilary Haigh is generally my first port of call.
