This is my first remote control vehicle, so I have gone through something of a learning curve and speak here as a novice - not with the voice of vast experience. I am indebted to all of the YouTube videos that are around and would recommend new users watching a few, particularly the ones that demonstrate calibration and settings.

I have a light plastic guard to protect my propellers. From the number of bumps and things I have had, I would highly recommend a guard - they can be bought here for £1.20

The sensitivity of the controls can be adjusted. At factory settings the controls are very reactive and a new user is likely to over-compensate when adjusting the controls, getting a lot of erratic flying. It helps to 'dampen down' the sensitivity. I took mine down from the factory setting of 50 to the lowest allowed which is 20 and this helped a lot. The YouTube videos are a great help with this.

Each propellor is marked A to D and each motor is marked A to D, you have to match the correct propellor to the correct motor, otherwise the thing will not fly. This becomes important if you crash and two blades pop off - you need to make surety go back on the right motors.

The machine has a superb gyro-stabiliser in it, that always corrects the horizontal plane of the craft, but it is essential that before flying you calibrate this as per the instructions .... but make sure the heli is on a perfectly flat surface like a table so that the gyros are calibrate to that level plane.

The machine has LED's on each leg which during flight help to show which is the front end, but also when the battery gets low they flash. Once they flash, it is advised that you stop flying and charge the battery.

First let me say I am a 47 year old kid.
My daughter got me one of these for my birthday, only the one she got advertised a HD camera, so knowing I had it ordered I ordered ,all from Amazon, the crash kit (includes spare battery), 4 additional batteries, and a multi charger. All were delivered in good order, but be warned they take a while to arrive. The drone is small and does come with a protection ring, this is taped to the underside of the inner packaging, recommend you fit this for first flights. Mine has now been removed after a hefty crash split it but flying outdoors it has survived many crashes without ring only breaking 2 rotors, pop them off pop new ones on they are labelled A's and B's A=clockwise rotation and B is anti. The motors seem pretty powerful and the more I fly it the more confident I am getting increasing in altitude and distance, the range is damn good it will be practically out of sight before range. The camera while not gonna win any awards does an adequate job for a drone of this size and price.
My advice is if you are looking in to getting a drone this is a great start, be prepared though if like me the bug grabs you, you will be looking for something bigger pretty soon. Now if only Hubsan made an exact replica 4 or 5 times the size with a stabile camera at 5mp or greater, ....... Ah well might have to be the Syma X8C. I've added some stills taken by my Hubsan this morning to try and show the cameras resolution....... Happy Flying 😃

I now have all the Hubsan x4 quadricopters. This one flies really well just like the others. It does not have a short aerial at the front of the controller. You can control it with earlier controllers. It took a bit of time to work out using the camera. It is best to place the SD card in it when everything is switched off. Then switch both the quadricopter and controller on. Then locate the tiny switch by the SD slot, just by this is a very small blue light. With the tip of your fingernail you can just reach the tiny black button to press it and switch the camera on. When the camera is on the blue light changes to a red and blue light. Keep both the controller and quadricopter on while switching the camera off. You do this by pressing the small button again and the light changes to blue only. Initially this did not work for me. However, after several attempts it now works every time. Unlike the fpv version the camera records AVI files in normal proportions which can be read by a pc or mac. It contained a wrench for removing the propellors but no propellor guard. I strongly recommend you get a propellor guard from Bangood for flying indoors. This lets you bounce off walls and ceilings without loosing propellors! Unlike the early models the battery is easily inserted and removed.

This is a brilliant (for the price) little quadcopter unfortunately my friend crashed it the day I got it and broke the back left arm. The hubsan also can withstand a lot of wind when on expert mode. The thing I'd improve on would be longer battery life.

Bought it three days ago. I am amazed at how fast it is and how tough it is . The blades have come off a few times as I have been learning how to use it and landed in trees so I recommend you get spares.
I also really do recommend that you are in open fields to begin with while you get used to the controls. its really hard to see which way its facing when its high up and could then make the wrong adjustment and it goes shooting off in the wrong direction.
Absolutely love it!
