Product Description

Product Description

If your granny were a little bit, well, different from other grannies, would you want to change her - or would you end up thinking you love her just the way she is? In this rhyming text, a little girl whose granny is (whisper it) a witch, gets fed up with dealing with the problems she creates, so she tries to reform her, but a reformed granny is bored and boring, and maybe it's more fun to cook up a big pot of gloop with granny's witchy friends after all.

About the Author

Tracey is the author of Hubble Bubble, Granny Trouble. She was born and grew up in industrial South Wales and now lives in a hidden valley in Gloucestershire with her husband, two children and an ever-increasing menagerie of devilishly-cute-but-sometimes-rather-naughty pets. A trained teacher, Tracey has always had a passion for wonderful literature and began writing for children in 2006. Her books for other publishers include The Grunt and The Grouch series about two riotous trolls, and numerous picture books including The Little White Owl. Joe Berger is the illustrator of Hubble Bubble Granny Trouble. When Joe was sixteen, his mum admonished him for doing nothing but whizzing about entertaining himselfA". Now in his early forties, Joe continues to whizz about entertaining himself - but tries to include as many other people as he can in the process - as a children's author, illustrator and cartoonist who also makes the occasional award-winning animated short film and title-sequence. He is co-creator of the Berger & Wyse food cartoon in the Guardian magazine each saturday, and has illustrated numerous books, inside and out, for children and grown-ups. When not working he loves to play modern family strategy boardgames. Joe lives in Bristol with his wife, three daughters, two cats and a small dog, all of whom refuse to play boardgames with him. His mum still wishes he'd calm down and start being sensible.

I purchased this for my 3 and 1/2 grandaughter and we both love it, my birthday is Halloween and my grandaughter calls me Granny so I had to get it. It's a great story, the illustrations are excellent and we read it everytime she is here. My grandaughter finds it hilarious with burping bats and froggy poop soup.

Grannies come in all shapes and sizes but this little girl has a very unusual granny - but should she try to change her? You'd think that a granny whose pets are cats and frogs and bats; who makes things disappear and who travels on a broomstick would be great fun, but this one is embarrassing! The little girl decides to make her more normal but in the end decides her old granny was much more fun. The catchy rhymes make the story flow and convey the message that different is good - there's room for us all and we should love people for what they are. To me, the illustrations have a charmingly old-fashioned feel, which echo the sentiment of the book excellently.
