Basic tips and tricks 16 Sept. 2013
By Blue - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
This is exactly what I wanted. A basic to intermediate tips and tricks books for the newer (2012-2013) web development for an ASP.net coder. Just enough to give a clue (& reference) on how to proceed with whatever web project I'm working on.

Code downloads do not work! 3 Dec. 2013
By Brendan Boyd - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
The code downloads do not work. There is absolutely no point whatsoever in buying a book if the author is going to give you code downloads that constantly throw error messages and will not run the way that they are supposed to. This is equivalent to buying a new car, putting the keys in the ignition and then the car won't start when you try to drive it off the sales lot for the first time. When I try to run the programs in chapter 6 I get the following error code messages.

Error 1 Could not load type 'System.Data.Entity.Design.AspNet.EntityDesignerBuildProvider'. C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\Config\web.config 132

All of the rest of the code for the rest of the chapters is the same thing with same or similar type error messages.
You would think that the authors of these books would make double darn sure that the code is supposed to run and operate the way it is supposed to before they publish their books. Unfortunately that is not the case here. A good reference book but forget about trying to use the code downloads to figure anything out with. For this I give it one star.
