When you buy a tap splitter you have a choice: screw it to your outside tap, or connect it via a length of hose to your outside tap.. At first I thought the former would be better, but now I realise the latter a) puts less stress on the tap, b) avoids an unsightly "xmas treee" of hoses at the tap, c) allows for more flexibility generally. In my particular circumstance the last of these meant I could split my hoses at a point equidistant form my greehouse, borders, kitchen garden and patio, so single lines radiate out towards these, rather than having to run three parallel hoses in roughly the same direction for the length of my garden. Being able to choose the location of splitting also meant I could keep the distribution point out of direct sunlight which would otherwise degrade the plastic of my multiple water times as well as the splitter itself.
In operation the unit worked perfectly with no leaks.
