The Vortex sprinkler could not be simpler but is 100% effective, with such a simple operating principle as to be more or less fool proof and maintenance free. I say "more or less" since my own first experience was less than encouraging - until I discovered that a piece of dead leaf had partially obstructed the filter through which water enters the spray chamber. Easily fixed, and apart from such a simple glitch there's nothing to go wrong - and it drenches an even bigger area than my previous rather complicated Hozelock sprinkler.
One slight apprehension - I'm not sure how well it would stand up to being dropped on a hard surface. Seems a tad fragile , but maybe that's just me.

As you're probably aware, there aren't many reviews for garden sprinklers so it can be a bit of a "black art" getting it right first time. Fortunately that's exactly what happened with this purchase. There are two setting, jets for covering larger areas and what I would term "raindrops" although it's officially spray or mist. The second mode worked best for me, watering both lawn and plants gently but thoroughly. My mains water pressure is awful, but this sprinkler happily spins away at a gentle pace throwing raindrops evenly across a good area. There is no fine adjustment on this model so you need to adjust the spray area using the tap - quite straightforward though. I would definitely recommend this model for small-medium size gardens - the more expensive models are overkill in my opinion. Previously, I was watering manually using a spray gun adaptor - very time consuming, especially with the hot weather we've been having in the UK recently. Now I just need to relocate this sprinkler every 10 mins to completely soak the lawn. Buy it now, you won't be disappointed!
This sprinkler is a great product for meduim to large domestic gardens, mines around 100' by 30' and this does the trick. I have to move it down the garden a couple of times to fully water the lawn but you'd expect this unless you wanted one with a 100' range in which case I'd recommend a fire hose instead!
The down side to this product is it's build quality/material. It's fully plastic and I don't believe it'd take a knock well at all, and it would def lose a fight against a dog or small child yanking at it. That said for it's price I'd buy it again in a heart beat if mine broke.
Both settings work well even under the slightest of pressure so please don't think it needs a rapid tap current to operate.

Not sure about this!
The sprinkler is ghreat for the short circle around it, but doesnt reach the distance it claims to. Not convinced and only used the product twice.
