This book is patronising, poorly written advice which simply rehashes several old wives tales and totally unproven ideas such as homeopathy with regard to getting to sleep more easily. There are a few pieces of potential useful advice but very well hidden amongst factually inaccurate nonsense. Anyone tempted to download this book should instead buy Bad Science by Ben Goldacre.

However, when I read the chapters on sleeping when pregnant and when you have a small baby (Cry Babies and Baby on the Way) I started to think the author had a few sensible things to say and to feel the book was not that bad. However I then read No Baby No Cry, the following chapter, and was utterly horrified. In relation to teaching your children to sleep better it states "Most cases of night time waking can be cured easily by controlled crying....you can probably solve it in two or three nights by letter her cry and not going to her at all". This is NOT what controlled crying is for, controlled crying is for weaned children and should be introduced carefully and thoughtfully, it is in no way an easy option and certainly doesn't involve just leaving your child to scream and cry for as long as it takes for them to sleep.

This shows the poor level of research and background reading the author has put into writing this book. Even as a free book I'd say it is best avoided. I've only given it 1 star as Amazon won't let me give none!

women seem to need about 20 minutes sleep more than men. The experts say its because women use their brains in a more flexible way than men which means their brains are working harder in the day and are therefore more tired at night. "e;
