Review

"This book is vital for any aspiring person who wishes to make a career in advertising. It fills a considerable gap and guides readers in very specific terms as to what steps they should take to enter this exciting, rewarding and stimulating industry. A wonderful guide to a fulfilling and satisfying craft." Archie Pitcher, CBE, Past President, Ogilvy & Mather London Ltd

Maureen Purbrook, Advertising copywriter

I've read lots of how-to books on advertising, but this one stands head and shoulders above the rest. --This text refers to the Paperback edition.

best of its kind 24 May 2000
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
There are lots of 'how-to' books about advertising, but this one stands head and shoulders above the rest. It's packed with detailed information on what the job titles really mean, how to make your approach and how to find out where the real openenings exist. The picture it paints of the way creative people work is the most authentic I've read. This is the inside track - a must-read for anyone wanting to get into the business.

An excellent guide to the industry and its various roles. Straight forward, telling it 'as it is' with great tips for getting that job. Also contains valid quotes from people 'in the business'. Wish something like this had been around 20 years ago!

Simon Anholt from Cave Anholt Jonason: "I must have looked at dozens of books promising the 'inside track' on working in advertising, but none of them deliver in the way this one does. Written from the perspective of the UK's leading advertising college, nobody could be better qualified than Ms Neidle to point the way to successful targeting, presentation, preparation and success in getting into the business. For the hopeful would-be agency staffer, it's as essential as a well-prepared CV and a good pair of walking shoes."
