5.0 out of 5 stars A help for all University Students, 13 Jan 2004
Race writes this book superbly well giving incites on concepts, ideas and methods on how to increase your ability to get a great degree that you deserve. Race is one of the simpilest writers to read however the book is not nonsense, its jam packed full of good ideas towards essay work and how to prepare for exams etc. With the addition that certain 'exercises' enable you to identify on where to improve on every aspect of your degree. It is a must read for any degree student on any course wether your a fresher or close to your final exams.
Also check out Race's "How to win as a final year student" it one not to miss! !

5.0 out of 5 stars This is for me a brilliant book full of useful advice, 13 Aug 2000
By Actor in Resting "George" (Strabane. N. Ireland) - See all my reviews
Phil Race seems to cover everything in great detail at every stage of the educational process from lectures to, using the library, making notes rather than just taking them; the process of how you learn. I found it very useful. The only thing I found unrealistic was his advice in exams to spend 10 mins planning & leave 20mins for editing the answers in order to pick up even greater marks. If I could write the answers to a 2 hour exam in an hour & a half I wouldn't need this book. Other than that It's packed with enormous detail in every area of the university leanring process. The opportunity to summarise the best approaches as you work through to the final action plan helps to distil the best strategies for you to get that good degree.
