Superficially, people might be drawn to the "how to" portion of the title, looking for the miracle formula to living in a state of permanent blessing. However, the truth is that this book examines the life of Mary, mother of Jesus, whom this phrase was used to describe.
In the study of great characters in the Bible, Mary is often missed, because I imagine the detail on her is so sparse. Moses had the first five books of the Bible to establish himself, but all Mary gets a couple of chapters in total, but yet out of all of God's creation, she is the one He chose to give birth to His son, our Saviour. She was entrusted to be His parent. That is a pretty awesome responsibility.
This book challenges every Christian to develop the same sort of relationship that Mary developed with God. Through an examination of the scriptures, peppered with experiences from the author's life, she calls all of us to come to a place where God can entrust great things onto our hands. The questions at the end of each chapter help us to develop into people that are truly "blessed and highly favoured".
