In the wastelands of the self-help industry a book like this stands out.
Based on Rational Emotive Behaviour therapy and Cognitive Behaviour therapy theories which are actually evidence based
It contains great advice on how to be more assertive and how to keep in control of yourself and not make yourself miserable. It is amazing how much is packed into this short book.
The chapter dealing with assertion is outstanding. He basically breaks down your options when dealing with unacceptable behaviour to four options
1: Toleration without resentment.
2: Protest
3: Separation
4: Toleration with resentment.
He then explains each of these options and shows you how to actually carry them out. Though of course option 4 is not recommended by him at all!
This version was printed in India and though there are occasional minor problems with the quality of the printing the binding is good so the book will not fall apart.
