Love Reading Love Books - ‘A Five Star Read of 2012’ - "I really enjoyed the light-hearted tone of the novella. There’s a little bit of everything, romance, intrigue, mystery, black magic and fun".

Story synopsis: Loveless fashion model Nola Nichols thinks being beautiful is a curse; that is until she is cursed and her looks begin to fade just a week before the most important photo shoot of her career. In her attempts to get uncursed she finds herself taking part in a rather unconventional funeral, involved in a voodoo ritual, reveals one or two unrests in her own past and falls madly in love with a doctor. Erm, that would be a witch doctor, right…?

How Do You Voodoo? is the first book in Janice Horton’s Voodoo Romance Series and is a novella of approximately 20,000 words or 62 pages. The second book ‘Voodoo Wedding’ is now available.

What the book reviewers say:
“Having a voodoo curse placed on the book's main character is a unique and fun direction to take with this bite sized romance.” Bestchicklit.com

“How Do You Voodoo? will entertain you and engage you ... perfect for reading on that journey”. Shazera Book Blog.

“Another entertaining, fun modern-day tale from this author with a nice balance of humour, sweet romance, morals and a spooky side!” The Little Reader Library.

Bestselling novelist Janice Horton is also the author of full length novels ‘Bagpipes & Bullshot’ and ‘Reaching for the Stars’.

4.0 out of 5 stars When your mind plays with you... 2 May 2013
By PRovere
Format:Kindle Edition
Nola (Nora) Nichols is 23 yrs old rising star in a fashion model industry. Because of one mistake and one papparazzi's photograph she is sent to the Carribbean island of Barbados.

When the photo is forgiven she gets a call from her agent to get back to the UK where a new - a break through - job is waiting for her.

She leaves the Barbados and her current 'date-friend' on a plane in a first class as she got used to. But on the plane nothing goes as she thinks it should. Not eating properly, drinking too much of champagne, finally she loses her temper over a female passanger who is brought to the first class area, because of her panic attack and bad heart condition.

Complaining too much over everything because of the Haiti Lady, she throws a spell 'of reveal the true you' over her. Not believing in 'mumbo-jumbo' stuff, Nola is very surprised and at the end also afraid to find out that something 'funny' is going on with her...

I read this novella in one day and liked it. I cannot say in one sitting as unfortunately I don't get that much of free time...

Why I gave this one 4 star review? Because I wanted it to be longer... Simple...

5.0 out of 5 stars Entertaining read 28 Feb 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
I really like the morality that runs through the heart of this story. It's a short, sharp, snappy read that takes a light-hearted look at the importance we place upon appearances and the detrimental behavior this encourages. The treatment Nola dishes out to the old woman is fairly typical and probably not too far-fetched, if we're all honest.

Having a voodoo curse placed on the book's main character is a unique and fun direction to take with this bite sized romance, and makes for an entertaining read - plus it is always satisfying to join a character on a his or her's journey of self-discovery. The second book in the series is sure to be a hoot.

4.0 out of 5 stars Jaydee 21 Nov 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Well amazing as it is, this book actually got Jaydee reading... and not only that she has picked up the kindle again straight after this one! That can only mean that this book is gripping/action packed and funny. Only thing Jaydee moaned about was, she thought mother and daughter should of had a big conversation. But praise from Jaydee is high praise as she doesnt take to many books, so recommends it highly.
