Product Description

Making the speech is the thing best men, grooms and fathers worry about the most when planning a wedding. Most people don't have to make speeches in public, so this is new territory - and it's seriously important to get it right. The balance has to be struck between being funny, while being aware that the girls may not respond well to some of the ideas that the boys would laugh about. The men understand this and know that they need the help this book will provide. This market is driven by fear in the main - men buy these books as a safety net. And women buy them for their men for fear of what they might do without one!

Words of wisdom 2 Nov 2009
Format:Paperback
The idea of making a speech fills me with dread. But if I had to, I'd need lots of help. This book is full of advice on how to prepare (advice that could be applied to any situation, not just a wedding), including how to gather material together, writing and abridging the speech, rehearsing and final delivery. There are short, pithy suggestions and longer sample speeches. Unlike many similar books, this one includes ideas for situations that might be tricky, such as children from a previous marriage, pregnancy, recent bereavement and where there is a distinguished guest in the party.
