5.0 out of 5 stars A great book on a complex subject, 18 Jan 2008
As the owner of a service business, I am keen to maximise its value, when I eventually sell it. Consequently, I have read a number of books on the subject of selling businesses, over the years. This one is, by some distance, the best of them. It is deeply rooted in the `real world', with case studies drawn from numerous sectors, and it covers a number of aspects I had never even considered. The chapter on `valuing your business' was a particular eye-opener. The book is very thorough overall, but the author's wry sense of humour makes for an easy read. The author is careful to explain when and why you should use professional advisers - accountants, lawyers etc - rather than being `penny wise, pound foolish'. I recommend this book without reservation, and I am excited by the higher selling price I believe I will attain for my own business, after taking the guidance on board.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, well written, 14 Jan 2008

This is a must have book for anyone in business. It is well written, easy to follow, and in addition to the process of valuing and selling a company, considers what can happen after the sale. A number of real life stories provide fascinating reading.

4.0 out of 5 stars Once you get past the adverts the content is good, 28 Aug 2008

Far too many adverts for this to be a good book, but of you ignore them and simply focus on the content then it has some real gems of advice here
