3.0 out of 5 stars funny!!!! 19 July 2004
Format:Mass Market Paperback
I have read all books about the St.John Brothers, and I liked them all without exception, but this one is the funniest, look out for Harriet's mother and sisters, you will love them and you will laugh you head off in all their dealings with the poor Chase, who hasn't got a clue of what to do with this family.
I enjoyed the way Harriet tried to convince Chase that he likes the barn and the sheep in it, the way their love blossomed under the sun in the open fields, and in the end love conquers all!! Obvious but really touching, Chase has a lot of healing to do and what better then a new love to help and a little magic from a certain ring that never fails to find its mark!

4.0 out of 5 stars A few mistakes but very good altogether. 12 Mar 2007
Format:Mass Market Paperback
Ms Hawkins seems to be labouring under the misapprehension that people from the East End of London speak with an Irish accent. Also, in all of the Talisman Series books she doesn't seem to realise that as sons of a Marquis, the brothers all have courtesy titles, so Brand isn't Mr St. John; he's Lord Brandon St. John and this particular book's hero is Lord Chase St. John and not Mr St. John.

If it wasn't for that, the book would get a 5 star rating however those mistakes are really annoying and so she misses out on one star. Other than that, who can resist this endearing book? The plot is farce-like, Chase knows who he is but pretends to have amnesia whilst the Ward family believe they have convinced him that he is a Captain betrothed to Henrietta. All the while they have no idea the joke is on them and that Chase is merely playing along.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very witty 21 May 2006
By LEP TOP 1000 REVIEWER VINE™ VOICE
Format:Mass Market Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
Very amusing and witty read. Chase the youngest of the St.John brothers' feels that he has to leave England to save the honour of his family that he thinks he has disgraced. He comes to this decision with a heavy heart, not wanting to leave his family. On the way to the coast he gets robbed and hit on the head and is found by the Ward family. Before he know it he is embroiled in a plan to save the Ward's estate from the bank by pretending to be Harriet Wards non-existant sea faring fiancee. This involves the indolent young rakehell in hearding and shearing sheep amongst other things. Add to the mix Harriet's inventive mother, two sisters and two brothers and the dastardly bank official who has decided to marry Harriet himself in order to further his social standing and you have the mix for a Regency romp. Enjoy!
