Product Description

“Strange title for adults, helpful book for teenagers!”

Are you aged 14-19 (ish)? Do you go to school or college? Or are you a parent or teacher of a 14-19 year old? Are exams looming?! Then this is the book for you.

How To Be Sick At School: Everyday Ways to Enjoy and Succeed at School and College is a unique book to help teenagers be their best.

It’s full of easy to understand and practical tips to help you (or your young adult) enjoy and succeed at school and college.

Nothing complicated or boring, just the good stuff to help you (or your young adult) to be your (their) best.

There are loads of good revision guides out there but no books that look at school and college as a whole – until now.

Enjoy.

Why that title and what does “sick” mean?!

“Sick” is a common word used by young people in the U.K. and U.S. – the new version of “sick” means something like…“crazy, cool” “Now used as the newest word to replace cool” e.g. ”That skateboard is sick!” “An adjective similar to cool referring to something that is great” “something a lot of people are using to describe something in a positive manner.” “when something is done very well or it looks or sounds cool”

Lee chose that title because it is catchy and appealed to his target / focus group, plus no teenager we’ve met would probably buy a book called “how to be a success at school”

I'm not at school anymore, so i'm not the intended reader for this book - but I've read it anyway, and it's great!

Lee Jackson speaks from the heart right and is down-to-earth, friendly and funny. The book is interactive and inspires creativity, so there's never a dull page. It's easy to read, but it doesn't dumb things down. Give this book a go, it's well worth it!

I wish someone had written a book like this when I was at school, and that someone (else?) had given it to me. Jackson brings some great insights at how to do well not just at school but in life. You get the feeling that with many books like this that the author has a couple of good ideas but is just trying to pad them out. Here however the ideas are fairly plentiful, but the padding is stripped away, leaving just the essentials, making it both easy to read and easy to digest.
