Product Description

Product Description

In a fast and complex world, we can't work any harder so we have to work smarter. The ability to think clearly, quickly and creatively is crucial, yet many of us don't realise how limited our thinking is. We spend years in education learning what to think, but virtually no time at all learning how. This is the book that explains how to think, presenting a range of thinking tools and techniques to improve the quality and range of thinking, using everyday examples in work and life to highlight key points. How to Think is the mind-gym to work out every mental muscle and give you real mind power. And improving the quality of your thinking will improve the quality of your life - at work and home. How to Think offers immediate and positive benefits for anybody who wants to:

be more of an 'ideas person' or a problem solver
innovate and be comfortable with constant change
improve personal and working relationships
find ways of dealing with complex information
get the big picture or plan for the future
cope better in the face of information overload
make quicker decisions and feel happy about making choices

This is a really good book. I have read a lot of management books, and this is one of the few which earns a place on my bookshelf in two ways. Firstly it contains genuinely new insights, which make valuable additions to my 'management toolbox'. Secondly, key ideas are highlighted in boxes throughout the text, which makes it easy to keep coming back for inspiration or reinforcement.

A innovative read 1 July 2002
By A Customer
his is one of two non-fiction book I've been able to read
> cover-to-cover in many years. The fresh perspective given to drawing
> together a number of thinking strategies and their practical use to work
and
> personal life, held my interest to the end. What made the difference for
me
> is the manner in which the information is presented. The book very much
> lives up to living and breathing different thinking and learning
> preferences, so ... not only are there spattering of pictures, diagrams,
> boxed 'tips' and stories interspersed but you are actually encouraged to
> write and draw pictures in it. "

Reid Uncorks the Genie 16 Sep 2003
By adnan - Published on Amazon.com
In this almost painfully meticulous book, Reid argues that most of the time we, humans are running on 'auto-pilot', just going through the motions and not really thinking to our real potential. Going from common perception to right brain thinking, Reid presents a wide array of exercises that can prep the mind for more active thinking. Definitely worth your attention!
