DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK.
Unless you are like me and collect and fix old things, you will find nothing of use in this book, and even for me there is little. The book mentions testing circuits using a vacuum tube voltmeter. Who is still using these?. Most of the test circuits shown in the book come as a standard attribute of modern DMM's and the information itself has a heavy American slant.
There are other much more interesting works by Delton T Horn that should be in print before this one.
A modern updated version of this book would be excellent however, and would be very useful indeed.

Dont buy this book 13 Sep 2011

Very old-fashioned, certainly not of great use today. The cover showing a autoranging DMM is a bit of a cheat, as this is beyond the scope of the book. Not at all recommended.

Helpful up to a point but only for those with a more sophisticated workshop than I. Nonetheless, it does give a structured approach to problem solving and ways to improve.
