Book Description

How To Stop Worrying and Start Living - What Other People Think Of Me Is None Of My Business: Learn Stress Management and How To Overcome Relationship Jealousy, Social Anxiety and Stop Being Insecure

Read on your PC, Mac, smart phone, tablet or Kindle device.

Stress is a lot like love – hard to define, but you know it when you feel it.

This book will explore the nature of stress and how it infiltrates every level of your life, including the physical, emotional, cognitive, relational and even spiritual. You’ll find ways to nurture resilience, rationality and relaxation in your every day life, and learn how to loosen the grip of worry and anxiety. Through techniques that get to the heart of your unique stress response, and an exploration of how stress can affect your relationships, you'll discover how to control stress instead of letting it control you. This book shows you how.

But this book is not just another “anti-stress” book. Here, we will not be concerned with only reducing the symptoms of stress. Rather, we'll try to understand exactly what stress is and the role it plays in our lives. We'll attempt to dig deep to really understand the real sources of our anxiety and how to take ownership of them. Using the power of habit and several techniques for smoothing out the stressful wrinkles in our day-to-day lives, we'll move towards a real-world solution to living with less stress, more confidence and a deep spiritual resilience that will insulate you from the inevitable pressures of life.

By adopting a trusting, open and relaxed attitude, we'll bring something more of ourselves to relationships of all kinds. This book will take a look at dating and relationships without stress and worry, as well as ways to bring tranquility and balance into your home and family life. Again, this book is not about eradicating stress from your life forever. We'll end with a consideration of the positive side of negative thinking, and how we can use stress and worry to our advantage.

We will address physical, emotional, relational, spiritual, and cognitive and behavioral symptoms of stress.

And while most stress-management solutions offer relief for symptoms in only one or two of the above areas, this book will show you how all five areas are important, and a successful stress solution will touch on each of them.

Here Is What You Will Learn After Reading This Book:

  • A deeper understanding of what stress really is and the role it plays in our lives
  • The real sources of our anxiety and how to take ownership of them
  • A real-world solution to living with less stress
  • Dating and relationships without stress and worry
  • Ways to bring tranquility and balance into your home and family life
  • And much more!

About the Author

Hi there! My name is Simeon and I'm a poet and a philosopher at heart, a health and fitness enthusiast by habit, a daredevil by choice, and a adrenaline junkie for life. I have a profound interest in the areas of personal and spiritual development, a deep longing for serenity, simplicity and numberless wealth, an unyielding belief in the goodness of all human beings, and an ever-growing ambition for all of us to be able to reach the height of our true potential and fully realize the dreams and visions that we have envisioned for ourselves. Some of my academic endeavors encompass the following: cognitive neuroscience, applied positive psychology, sports and exercise science, and evidence-based psychological coaching. I currently work as a life coach and health counselor with people who want to make realistic, autonomous, and lifelong changes in various areas of their lives. Above all, what I truly desire is to be a positive influence in other people's lives. So if I have played but the smallest part of changing your life for the better, if I have made but one positive impact on you, left you with some new insight, steered you in a new direction, or helped you take that next step on your journey, I will be more than satisfied. I'd like to share a short story I heard once, a few words by Les Brown which have had a profound impact on me when it comes to living life to the fullest. It goes like this: "The wealthiest place on earth is not the goldmines of the earth. No, the wealthiest place on earth is the graveyard. Because here you'll find an endless array of hopes and dreams that were never fulfilled, books that were never written, songs that were never sung, inventions that were never shared, cures that were never discovered, and all because someone was too afraid to take that first step, keep with the problem, or determined to realize their dream. The question is - if you die today, what ideas, what abilities, what talents, what gifts, what dreams would die with you?" So, if you were to leave here with nothing else, I would want to leave you with this: don't die with your music still in you. There truly is no one else who can sing your song. You are the one. Take care! /Simeon

Somehow, sometime in our social evolution, someone built stress into the fabric of our society - constant competition, constant comparison, constant ambitions relating to the most mindlessly crazy things. We've all stopped living like animals and taken up living like cogs in some insane machinery instead, and it's killing us almost as fast as we can kill ourselves by other means. Stress is that serious a problem. I don't want to get too hippie about this but does it really matter what car you drive and how often you re-model the country estate - or does it matter that you occasionally watch the sun rise, or the moon set or your dog playing?

This is a practical book addressing the journey you need to make, tout suite, a la quick as you can, from being a cog and a consumer and one of a sick society's listed assets to be being an animal, an individual, a happy, healthy and useful humanl with time to breathe and time to stand and stare once in a while. This book helps you to listen to yourself again - maybe even to hear yourself for the first time, and to regard yourself and your needs and wants as important.

Highly recommended.

1.0 out of 5 stars a waste of money 31 Jan. 2015
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Overly simplistic. Anyone who is able to use Google could have 'written' this book by copying and pasting paraphrases about stress from the internet. The author must be laughing all the way to the bank.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not just a typical guide to managing stress 15 July 2014
By Amy
Format:Kindle Edition
As adults, we all have stress in our lives – it just comes with the territory. Knowing what is causing your stress and being able to manage it successfully is the key. Also, knowing what your stress is doing to different aspects of your life – physical, emotional, cognitive or behavioral, relational, and spiritual – will help you to manage each aspect. This book has such helpful information on how to be successful at managing and overcoming stress that I would highly recommend this book.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not impressed. 16 Feb. 2015
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Disappointing. I bought this and another of the author's books together, because of all the good reviews, but I found no fresh insights here, and didn't find the author's style at all engaging. It seems to me that Simeon Lindstrom has developed a formula for repackaging popular 'wisdom' in a brief way and is probably making a good living from doing so. Also, the book (booklet?) itself was poorly produced; the covers soon curled back.

5.0 out of 5 stars De-Stress! 13 Aug. 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
Being a lifelong sales person, stress is a major part of my life. The first chapter of How To Stop Worrying and Start Living made me wonder if I had actually been born stressed out. However, this book aids the reader in looking at the psychological aspects of stress. It delves into techniques which will aid you in learning how to handle the stress so that you can reduce headaches, muscle aches, and better handle the depression and anxiety which accompanies too much stress in your life.

I downloaded and read this book via the Kindle Unlimited feature!
