This is the must have book for anybody interested in earning a living from petsitting and dog walking. If, like me you're a novice you'll find there is a little more to petsitting than you thought but this book takes you by the hand and guides you effortlessly through everything you need know.
All aspects of petsitting are covered by the author: how to start up your business, how to advertise and get work, she gives you sample contracts, information sheets and business forms to copy; tells you how to deal with difficult clients (owners and animals alike), gives guidance on how much to charge, gives a comprehensive course in pet care and first aid, she hasn't missed a thing and, not only does she tell what you're going to need she tells you where and how to get it, giving addresses and telephone numbers.
This is not a book of researched theory but comes from someone who has done it and knows her stuff, you may be a novice when you start the book but you'll feel like an expert when you finish it and, best of all it's not a hard boring read but a delightfully enjoyable one. The book is peppered with quick tips and amusing (in one case hilarious) anecdotes not only from the author but also from other petsitters. Because it is so well chaptered and indexed, when you've finished reading it, you have an excellent reference book and one I predict every petsitter is going to have on their shelf.
