How to spot a winner!, 18 Jun 2005
This review is from: How to Spot a Hadrosaur in a Bus Queue (Paperback)
I have recently read How to Spot a Hadrosaur in a Bus Queue by author Andy Seed.
I really liked that the book was made up of lists which, for once, weren't boring ones!
I also enjoyed that the book could easily be put down and picked up again although it was very hard to leave for even a minute!
Some of my favourite parts of the book were:
What do you call a man/women.........
I found these really funny! I also enjoyed working out how they got their names. For example, what do you call a woman in a gust of wind? - Gail! I had many other favourites.
Things you can buy with $1 million.
I enjoyed this list because it was shocking to see how much things really cost! My favourite ones were, 0.02 of Zinedine Zidane and 80,000 Bob the Builder DVD's!
Dodgy Mathematical sayings.
I thought this list was very clever and it was funny realising how they weren't correct, like, being good at maths is 90% natural ability and 15% hard work!
Overall I thought this book is a great read for all ages who want a good laugh. I would definitely like to see another book like this on the book shop shelves, with even more funny and fantastic lists, facts and figures.

A Fantastic Find, 16 Oct 2004
This review is from: How to Spot a Hadrosaur in a Bus Queue (Paperback)
I stumbled across this book recently and I have to say i'm very impressed - it's everything it claims to be! Very funny, very interesting and very, very silly. It's not only a childrens' book even though it's marketed as one - i'm sure teenagers and adults would appreciate surreal lists of "facts" like "Seven Lies About Rhyll" and "Strange But False" just as much, if not more than children. The illustrations are good too. A great book to give someone if you have no idea what to buy for a present!
Did you know you can buy 20,693 miles of fishing line with £1 million? Neither did I before I read it in here! How to Spot a Hadrosaur In a Bus Queue is packed with gems like this - and for only a fiver, it's great value too!

Great Fun, 29 Sep 2004

I really enjoyed this book - it is funny, interesting and unusual. The lists are full of wacky words and strange facts but the best bits are the 'silly facts' which are collections of nonsense and great silly stuff including jokes and things like that. I think all kids will like this book.
