My daughter bought me this book on the grounds that i did not do what the title said! I'm so glad that she did as this book has encouraged my husband and I to really think about what we want to do. It covers everything from goverment allowances to day trips on the Orient Express. I loved the section on where to live and retirement overseas and we are know looking at both options. I would strongly recommend this book.

My Children bought this for my birthday...they thought as a joke regarding spending their inheritance. It is a good title and I feel richer for reading it. I have been in a newsagents all my working life but retirement now is near and my wife and I are happy about it. I did not realise there was so much choice until reading this book. I am going to use it as my guide and will invest in a retirement apartment and will travel. There is an interesting section about learning something new and I will do this.

I thought getting older was all about peace and quiet but having read this book it shows me I can have my cake and eat it...peace and quiet yes but a bit of excitement thrown in too and its not just for those who are retired its for anyone over 45/50 who has ambitions for the future. I know I don't want to vegetate and grow old gracefully...I want to actively enjoy my latter years and squeeze as much out of them as I can...so when it is time for my rocking chair...I'll be ready because I will have hopefully done so much...this book shows you how...believe it anything is achievable if you really want it. I've always wanted to travel round the world and that is just what I intend to do.

This is an excellent book. It covers every aspect of getting older you can think of but in a way that it is not dry our boring. It shows you how to make sensible decisions and has given me an insight into what it available for me not just when I retire but about what is available for me to do now. I really recommend this book to anyone who is approaching middle age and beyond...but I also recommend buying it for your parents...contrary to the title!

This is just what I needed to help me make the move. I have been living alone now for fifteen years and it is time I made a change. I have always been reticent about change but at 59 i feel i need to get on with my life. This book is packed full of ideas and I liked the bit written by her mum its encouraging.

I loved this book and the title is great. My mum and dad want to downsize but aren't sure what to do I've given them this book and they are both fighting over who should read it first. Its full of info about not only the important things but the fun things to do in later life too. It is useful in talking about what you can achieve rather than what you can't and you don't have to be loaded either. A must read for anyone who has a mum or dad or anyone who is looking for ideas for later life.
