4.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable and Essential Crossword Puzzle Guide 30 May 2013
Format:Paperback
This book has various sections which together create a very interesting and helpful book. There are sections of words such as lists of the cathedral cities , astronomers royal, soap operas, paper sizes, paper types, London theatres and London train termini. There are less common lists such as Christian names with double meanings such as Austin, Myrtle and Peregrine.
Apart from the essential and essential lists there is advice to unravel the nature and mystery of the cryptic clue. For example "Give academic a tea break" (6) is explained as : The academic is a DON. He gets a tea break (anagram indicator) which gives ATE. 'Give' = DONATE.
