Product Description

Book Description

A guide to passing numeracy tests. Offers help, information and practical advice on the three most common types of numeracy tests. This second edition features new practice material and answers.

Product Description

Candidates for selection and promotion interviews by large employers will find that numeracy tests are second in use only to verbal reasoning (word-power) tests.

Numeracy tests call for the ability to add, subtract, divide and multiply, usually without the aid of calculators, and to interpret numerical data.

Familiarity with test procedures in advance will increase confidence. This book will help anyone preparing for selection tests containing a numerical element. This new expanded edition offers information, practical advice and many new practice tests (as well as the answers, to allow self-assessment). It deals with the three common types of numeracy test:

number problems

number sequences

data interpretation.

Based on the author's work preparing candidates for the uniformed services and the Civil Service entrance examinations, this book will prove invaluable to all who apply for jobs, promotion or training.

This book is comprehensive, but it is basic. If you are applying for a high-powered job, then expect much more challenging questions than this book contains. It is a good starter, but don't use it as a bible, or you'll find that you are in for a nasty surprise.

When you start reading the book and do the tests, be careful, because the book contains number of mistakes. I found it extremely irritable because it destructs you from your main goal of practising. DO not bother timing yourself, because you will more than like discover that many of the practical exercises to not make sense. Why? Simply because the author made a mistake or left a digit out. Then when if you decide to check your answer with the answers given in the book, you will first have to find that answer, simply because the author decided that they don't have to be in any particular order or, indeed, numbered correctly!
Overall, the book is a big disappointment and not worth it...

Far too simple and nothing like the real tests that any one can face especially graduates and full of silly mistakes. The labels on diagrams don't help at all. All in all IT IS USELESS.
