5.0 out of 5 stars Practical advice from someone who has learnt the hard way, 22 Jul 2007
By A. J. Martyr (Inkberrow England) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
From bitter expereince I knew that painting any sort of model was fraught with difficulties but I had no idea where to look for help - until I found this book. I am so glad I found it before starting on my new model
Clearly written, full of the sort of advice that only practice can give.
Simple the best text on the subject on the market.

1.0 out of 5 stars How to Paint a Model Engineering Project............, 28 April 2008
By P. R. Atkins (UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I purchased this book thinking it would deal with the painting of brass and whitemetal kits for model railways - O, OO/HO, N guage etc. In fact, it deals with the meticulous painting of a 7.1/4" scale mammouth of a project. Beautiful detail and the results achieved by the author are magnificent but the book is absolutely no use to railway modellers. A good read if you are building any true model engineering project be it a locomotive, traction engine or the like.

5.0 out of 5 stars Don't do it that way! Do it this way!, 17 Oct 2009
By Mr N G COOPER (Southampton on sea) - See all my reviews
Although mainly written for users of spray guns and those into large model engineering, I found the book was full of great tips, ideas and to be a very good 'read'. I model in 16mm to the foot, 1/19th scale, and the bulk of the text was relevant. Not a cheap book, but thoroughly recommended for its high quality colour illustrations and ideas.
