5.0 out of 5 stars It worked for me. Excellent tips and advice. 18 Nov. 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Immensely practical and re-assuring. So many tips and such sound ideas. I couldn't wait to put into practice her suggestions. I am 59 years old, been driving since I was 18 and recently started having enormous anxiety driving on motorways culminating in panic attacks. I was starting to think I couldn't drive on motorways any more but dual carriageways were becoming a problem too. I tried having a driving lesson again and practicing slowing my breathing but this was not enough. However so many ideas in the book as well as stories from others like me and somehow I knew I could beat it. And I did. Have just driven 400 miles using 3different motorways. I am elated and feel I have my independence back. I highly recomend this book. It's easy to read send find your way round. Has loads of tips and other websites. I really feel she wants you to succeed because she has first hand experience of what it is like.

Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I bought this for my partner who was really struggling to gain confidence when on the road, once she read a few chapters she had this renewed vigour and confidence, and although we are still working on getting her to 100%, she's come very very far with this book i.e. driving through central london and doing just the basics alot better i.e. driving through town. all in all great book!

5.0 out of 5 stars The only book to help me 5 Sept. 2014
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Understanding driving phobia is hard enough for the person suffering but can be very difficult for them to get others to understand. Especially when others give it so easy, therefore, they can't see what your problem is.

This book saved me. I still some driving fear but gaining a better understanding and knowing I wasnt the only one helped me start to address it. I was threatened with losing my job if I didn't drive and if I hadn't had this book, don't think I'd have been able to do it.

Really clear and reassuring, this book breaks the fear down to make it feel logical and possible to overcome. The theories can be applied to other fears and this has opened my mind up to accepting I'm not alone and that I am strong enough to get over fears if I focus.
