As someone who was diagnosed with high blood pressure while still in my twenties, stress is something I've been needing to get a proper handle on for years. The ideas in this book have been a big help, and have been as useful, if not more so, than the Paul McKenna book on a similar topic I spent 10 times as much on a few years ago. I think my rating and title says it all. This is a great book and needs to be on your bookshelf. If you suffer from stress at all (and who doesn't) then you need to read this ... not once, not twice but repeatedly.

I'm a project manager, an entrepreneur, a consultant, and a writer. All of which are stressful jobs. So I've sat through more training on stress management than any human should ever have to endure. This is one course that I'd happily sit through over and over and over.

I've been told that this book was written during a flight from the U.K. to Australia. As a writer, I find that amazing and it leaves me more than just a little jealous. The book is comprehensive, well presented, and very well written. It is not your usual self-published, get-rich-scheme-output poorly-written load of rehashed crap. It is definitely as good (or better) than most traditionally published books I've read. There is no question that Rick knows his stuff on this subject and is open about sharing it.

Speaking of reading, be prepared to read this book several times. And pick times when you can focus on what you are reading. And be prepared to make notes as you go. There is that much useful information in it.

In simple language, buy the paperback to sit on your desk and the Kindle edition to carry with you. It's good enough to justify the double purchase ... and that's a very rare thing!

This is a wonderful book because it’s so much more than a “ready, set, go” approach to relieving stress. The book helps the reader to recognize the causes of stress and the very negative psychological and physical effects that stress can have on all of us. The book takes a holistic approach to relieving stress with exercise, diet, and proper sleeping habits and even rethinking the negative personal aspects of our lives. If the recommendations in this book are followed and the stress-relieving self-hypnosis techniques clearly described in this book are practiced, anyone can live a healthy, stress-free life.

In Give Stress the Finger by Rick Smith, the author unlocks the mysteries and secrets of hypnosis. If you are new to hypnosis, you may be thinking that it is impossible to perform hypnosis on yourself. If you already have some experience with hypnotherapy, you probably already know that self-hypnosis is not only possible, it is relatively easy. The author has made the process relatively easy by beginning with easy techniques for beginners and very gradually working up to more advanced techniques. To help and guide readers through the exercises, links to downloadable audio files are included. The audio files are an important part of learning self-hypnosis. The concept is similar to other self-taught disciplines. Repetition is the key. Basic techniques are repeated until you are ready to move on to the next level. At some point, the audio files will no longer be needed. Anyone can do this. You only need to listen to the recordings and follow the procedures clearly described in the text.

Take Massive Action and give stress the finger. This book is a hard hitting mine of information for us unfortunate souls that suffer from stress in our daily lives. But no more! After reading this self help book from Self-Hypnosis guru, Rick Smith, I now feel I can deal with whatever life throws at me. Definitely recommended for anyone who actually wants to improve their mental wellbeing and not just moan about it.

I found the information in this book quite mind blowing. Rick gives an excellent explanation of the different stages and provides mp3 recordings to aid the process. I was particularly interested in the section on suggestion, as this made a lot of sense to me and fitted well with the idea of positive thinking and the law of attraction. This is a book that you will need to treat as a course rather than an easy read, as there is a lot to take in.

If you are feeling overly stressed and like to read up on a subject before tackling it, this is a great place to start. It will save you a ton of time and money. I used to scour the web for articles until I discovered all these useful e-books on every subject there is. Well, for stress management, this book encompasses all the main topics and packs a wealth of information into each chapter. I have read this author before and so now it's two hits in a row for me. Another stimulating well-crafted book at a nice price. Recommended.
