This book is very difficult to achieve success. I managed to fold the space shuttle. For the other two planes I tried I found the instructions poor and spent alot of time without completing them. After this I decided I had wasted enough time without success so I have given up. I was going to use this in school for end of term activity in maths lessons but since I could not work it out myself I abandoned that idea and used the modular origami book instead.

Don't bother buying this book unless you are a very proficient folder who enjoys a puzzle. The cover looks great, and the book has some good tips for making origami planes fly better, but the models are very difficult to fold because the publisher seems to have omitted most of the instructions. Look out for Advanced Paper Aircraft Construction Mk I and Mk II by Campbell Morris, Origami Paper Airplanes by Didier Boursin or Flying Bird Origami by Yoshihide Momotani - much better !

If you're looking for a book on paper planes for young people then this may be too complicated. the models very quickly require a level of skill that would be beyond a beginner. There is a definite lack of instruction as to how the planes are folded and you may need to look ahead several times to see how the current fold works out. And at least 3 of the planes are just variations of each other so you don't end up with that many different models in the long run

That being said the models themselves are good flyers and the achievment in making them makes this a good book for Origami enthusiasts. Good paper is essential or the model will be too stiff to complete. I gave it 4 stars because the models justified a feeling of satisfaction and for the price it was well worth the money.
