I've been reading books on relationships for many many years. This is the best I've come across yet. I like its compassion and its simplicity. For me what makes it compassionate is that we are encouraged to trust the process of our love - that if we do so - it will unfold in a way which will lead us to more love. Even in times of conflict - we are encouraged to trust the process - not to judge it - and to allow it to do its thing. For me the simplicity lies in the fact that there is only one process for us to use - what she calls 'linking'. This process is really about conducting our communication from the same side of the 'table' rather than opposite sides. We are encouraged to be honest and true - not to try to protect one another from what we feel or need to express. The fact we are speaking from the same side of the table though - to the 'body of our love' - allows us to express these things without triggering each other. We are enabled to feel that we are both facing a dilemma together - rather than fighting over who is right. And we are encouraged not to try to find solutions, but let the love - in it's own time - show us the way ..... A real gift to couples.

I was recommended to read Anne Geraghty's book by a good friend of mine. Having just finished it I now want to pass on this recomendation to everyone I know. This is a wonderful book, full of wisdom and insight, that manages to address an age old problem – how two people can live together happily – in an entirely new and dynamic way. By focusing on the body of love built up between two people in a relationship as something separate from, yet integral to, that relationship, this book gives practical and spiritual guidance for anyone struggling to find love and stay in love. It is a uniquely generous and important book; you really feel as you read that you are being touched by the lessons of the author's own profound life journey in a way that is wholly undogmatic or preachy. We need more books like this in the world.
