4.0 out of 5 stars How to cut a finer figure 25 Nov 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
... is another title option for this book!

I found it easy to read and mindfully digest the information. The preposition that we don't have to immediately take all suggested changes on board, but instead incorporate them gradually in bite sized chunks was refreshing, too. Okay - end of awful puns...

The proposed attitudinal and habit changes that can be relatively easily incorporated into do-able goals make sense, too.

'Newbies' can find exercise suggestions to build into daily or weekly routines, though the author makes no pretence about going into these in depth, saying, quite rightly, that there's loads of information available online.

My only beef is that the food intake advice seems to follow current standard perceived wisdom on healthy eating. As such it doesn't highlight the diabetes & teeth decay that can occur specifically with 'government approved' daily fruit doses over time, so I'd be a bit wary of that. And it's also not exploring anything outside of these guidelines - such as living foods.

Other than that, much better than most on the market today, and far more likely to be adopted as a way of life and therefore make a lifetime's difference :-).

5.0 out of 5 stars Weight Loss Made Easy 13 Nov 2013
By Dave
Format:Kindle Edition
The problem with most weight loss books is that, to follow them, you have to make huge changes to your life style. You have to make huge commitments of time and energy, in order to change your exercise and eating habits.

And let's face it, very few of us HAVE that time and energy. It's HARD to change habits. And while we are struggling to make those changes, our regular life, our jobs and families, don't suddenly take a break and leave us alone while we struggle.

The beauty of this book is that it suggests little, bite-size changes we can make gradually, and a lot more easily, at our own pace. Those little changes add up over time and result in big changes, without our having to turn our whole lives upside down first.

Use this guide to put your own, personalized plan together, or use the 3 month quick-start plan that's also included. This book puts the power into your own hands.

5.0 out of 5 stars cutting a finer figure 10 Nov 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I found the book informative and easy to follow. Victoria provided plenty of goals and ideas on how to reach the goals. I like the action plan provided at the end of the book - the are easy to introduce to your healthy eating plan and she supports a change in mind set rather than just provide a healthy eating plan.

I like the facts that were provided within the book and also the reassurance that it is ok to be naughty with food every now and again!

Good book Vic

5.0 out of 5 stars Interesting Approach with Great New Ideas 15 Nov 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The problem with Weight-Loss Books is that many of them are based on outdated ideas about how our bodies work. In this book, the Author incorporates advice based on the latest science to lay out a plan that works without huge sacrifices. The key lies in using simple systems to ensure you stick to your commitments, and setting a routine to monitor your progress. What goes on in the mind is equally as important as what happens in the body, and this book successfully breaks down various taboos and myths which can be obstacles. Most of all, it gives absolutely clear instructions about how to follow good habits, right down to the hour. Can't fault the content or the writing. Recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Realistic and it works 2 Nov 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
Having tried lots of diet books over the years I was a bit tired of the whole genre and reluctant to give yet another approach a go. Ms Chambers book, however, gives a simple, easy to follow and sustainable approach to weight loss that is just refreshing. I love the way the book doesn't preach at you but gives you a range of strategies to follow. Most books outlining a holistic approach as this book does, simply get bogged down in research techniques and theory. This book is concise, practical and effective.

3.0 out of 5 stars Sound advice throughout BUT ... 27 Jun 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
I really like the way the author has written this book and there are lots of great tips with regards to breaking everything down into small steps with a guide to implementing them over a period of time . I would have gladly given it 5 stars but I fee the nutrition advice, albeit in line with government guidelines, is wrong with the advice to avoid saturated fat and to eat 'healthy ' whole grains . So called healthy whole grain Bread spikes your insulin levels more than a snicker bar!! There is loads of info on the web and I would recommend ' The Coconut Miracle' by Dr Bruce Fife, and Wheat Belly by Dr William Davis, also look Into the paleo diet

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent book 26 Mar 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
Very informative and motivational

Achievable goals, seems fun and I'm looking forward to doing the 12 week plan as I go to ibiza in 12 weeks... I'm 45 and weigh 140lbs. I have an office job and already walk my dog 5 to 7 mornings per week so I'm going to walk in my lunch break 3 times a week and do 150 strength training per week. Goal is to lose 12lbs... I also have fibromyalgia and could crash and burn in my 1st week.
I will review again in 12 weeks
