As a child my Mum was always trying to teach me to knit, but I had no interest, considering it was for old fogies. Well, now that I am an old fogie myself (39) with little children, I thought it was probably time to learn to knit. Sadly my Mum was no longer around, so I had to search for a good book to teach me the basics. This book is wonderful. Not only are there some really fun little projects, but the instructions are very clear and precise - I had no idea that casting on was quite so easy! I've since moved onto more advanced projects, but I keep this book nearby for reference. This book is perfect for everyone who wants to learn to knit in a fun, clear and precise way. Brilliant.

Excellent Book! 10 May 2009
Format:Paperback
I bought this book after seeing my neice's copy - it's a lovely little book for young knitters - I wanted it as it has some really simple patterns for nice items you might want to make as quick to knit gifts - and also for the knitted flowers - which you can add onto any item you have knitted - so even though I am not new to knitting - I still like this book very much.
Recommended!
It is modern and includes many projects - the photography is nice and the directions are clear.

This book helped me learn how to knit properly, I could only do 'knit' stitch and that was it. This book taught me how to do the whole thing from start to finish, cast on, knit/purl/cast off/knit flowers and leaves, bags etc. Which means Ive now been able to help my 6yr old daughter learn new things too. This book was recommended by an after-school club crafts teacher and I can't recommend it highly enough for learning all the steps you and your child will want to learn. Easy to understand with good descriptions and diagrams.Super!

How to knit?
A nice looking book and easy to follow until you realise they have got one of the patterns wrong! Lost faith in the book after that, and gave it away.
