5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent value, essential information, 3 Aug 2002

This review is from: How to Win at Horse Racing (Teach Yourself) (Paperback)
An excellent guide to horse racing in the UK and throughout the world. The author is a former betting shop manager, and shares her experience and knowledge well. This book will not make you a fortune overnight, but WILL save you a lot of money on less than sensible bets. Good, real world common sense, everything to take a beginner (who has never placed a bet and doesn't know one end of a horse from another!) to an experienced bettor on the races. If your interest is purely in the sport side of racing, this book is also an excellent guide for you too. Details of everything from types of races to details of the classic races, racetrack details etc. are all here. At the price, this book has something for everyone - gambler and horse lover alike, beginner and seasoned expert too. Everyone will enjoy this book and at the price it is excellent value for money. A must have book for anyone who loves the horses and maybe the occasional flutter.

4.0 out of 5 stars New comer or pro, an excellent insight to the betting world., 20 Mar 2002

This review is from: How to Win at Horse Racing (Teach Yourself) (Paperback)
Having been betting fairly succesfully for a few years I was unsure of the value of such publications but after reading it I feel as though I have a wider knowledge of the sport but more significally of betting. I am by no means a pro in any sense of the word but understood the methods entirely. However, some of the maths envolved went over my head but on studying it further became more clear. A valuable source of knowledge and at this price, well worth a read.
