9 of 9 people found the following review helpful By A. Tatton on 25 Oct. 2006
Format: Hardcover
This is a very useful book which helps people see improvements in their lives in very practical ways. I love the happiness manifesto and the 12 steps to happiness - they're very useful and there are some 'worksheets' in the book which are also helpful. I don't agree with the 12 commandments of 'Happiness at Work' however (too simplistic) and some of the book is over-reliant on the theorising of Barry Schwartz & Mihaly Csik. which didn't make much sense to me. I also think the design /strucutre of the book could be improved; there could be some nice relaxing images and/or photos, there could be less about the various authors and the book could be paperback. Overall it is worth getting.

Liz Hoggard is one of the funniest writers around, and in this little gem, she is able to hit all the right buttons. Thought the cover and formatting was a bit 80s, though -- not her fault, but that of the publishers's marketing department!

I think this is a great introduction, in a very practical, accessible way to positive psychology. And something that can make you look at your own life and enable you to see simple, possible steps you can take to improve the quality of the life you are leading.

Well worth a read.
