I bought this book after enjoying the series and as someone seriously looking at moving abroad to start a new life. Unfortunately this book is not as in depth as it appeared from the product description and it doesn't even touch on information for the USA and Canada (which is where we are interested in going).
What there is is easy to read and would suit those who have done nothing more than dream about heading off. The information on the countries that it covers is OK, accurate and it provides a good starting point for further research. However, unless you are looking to move to France, Spain, Italy, Australia or New Zealand then this book will be of little practical use.
I was particularly disappointed as I had expected more information on how to decide where to go, instead the book basically tells you to do lots of research, (preferably elsewhere) and perhaps go on holiday to see whether you could be happy in your chosen country. I had also hoped that the book would provide me with food for thought about countries that I may not yet have considered, before going into more detail about the most popular destinations, but alas this wasn't the case.

On the face of it a decentish book, but there are serious drawbacks about the amount of helpful info and advice to be found in it. The advice contained is generally just common sense and guidance, there was no actual valid info for where we (My Family) are emigrating to, Canada, this was very disappointing as it was featured on the tv programme several times. If you have your heart set on a specific country this book is very low on the info stakes & I'd recommend getting a country specific book (the Living & Working in series are very good) but if you need a bit of help choosing a country (although limited) this book may help.

There is nothing wrong with this book at all and it gives not only a good structure and framework to plan your move but it also does it in a clear and concise manner. The exclusion of the US and Canada or for that matter Timbuktu is immaterial to the type of plans you should be laying. But if you are buying just remember that these countries are not covered, some in Britain might find this a blessing as many are desperately trying to flee the "McDonalds culture". If you follow the advice herein then your venture or adventure abroad will be less likely to be fraught with problems. Five stars and recommended.
