I'm not going to bang on about the de-construction of the male psyche through clever, witty prose, because that's just daft. If you loved Arab Strap or Malcolm Middleton's stuff you will also love this. Less gritty than Strap, less polished than Middleton, it sits alone as a special genre, grizzled, funny, Scottish madness. There are stand out tracks but that's my own personal opinion, go and buy it and let it play a few times, it will get through to you if you open up and take it for what it is, superb music from an unlikely source.

Should I be lucky enough to get to Scotland someday, I will have this CD with me. What a treat, and exceptional music...Funny my ancesters were from Inverness, Loch Lomand, etc., and my favorite music is country...I can hear it in this CD and enjoyed it a lot.

A quirky must for lovers of scottish miserablism. This set even comes with a board game where the age old 'snakes' of relationship pitfalls well outnumber the ladders that lead to Scots heaven - haa!. The half spoken, half sung brogue will be an acquired taste for many but not for Arab Strap fans who will find plenty to warm to.
