Really Dangerous 19 April 2012
Format:Hardcover
I read this book then went flying and it was really hard, none of the controls looked the same and I actually thought it was quite dangerous the writing is also to small to read properly in flight so I recommend trying to memorize some bits first or getting a bigger book with bigger writing. Also the plane had 4 radios and none of them would tune properly so I missed all the cricket the book said nothing about how to get music either. I couldn't even dock my ipod. Whilst trying to land I did get some guy telling me off on one of the radios, though something about a c11 violation he said "your going to loose your license over this" "like, what license?" and he got even more upset."its not a car duh?"
Anyways unless you want to loose your license (whatever) don't buy this book. Tomorrow I'm going to read a Helicopter book as I saw one once and it looked way easier to fly.

An interesting overview of learning to fly. Would probably be a great gift for someone about to go on a trial lesson to give them an idea of what to expect. The style is easy and free flowing, with some great diagrams to illustrate concepts, and some brilliant photography.

Not so great for someone wanting to get a licence, though; the information isn't presented in the same sequence that a flying school would train in, and is all a bit brief. Serious students would be better off with Trevor Thom's series of books, which cover the subject in far more depth.
