This is a rare book and such a welcome change from many of the self-help books out there - the writer understands the real world and writes in an inspiring yet pragmatic way. I have been considering what to do professionally and personally for some time but the breakthrough only came while reading this book. If you feel stuck in a rut at work, or just feel a little lost regarding the purpose of life, go out and buy this book. I've looked high and low for more books by this author and can't find any - I hope she writes some more soon. Truly a life changing book.

Definitely Worth A Read! 31 Jan 2009
By Darren G. Burton - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
How many of us hate our jobs, wish we could improve our view of our jobs, or find a better one? Almost all of us have probably felt this way at one time in our lives.

How To Enjoy Your Job is to the point and easy to read. The author relates her information to her readers in an upbeat style and motivating manner. You can't help but be left with an overwhelming sense of optimism after reading this one.

Improving your position in your current employment, gaining more from your job, discovering more about yourself and what it is you would be happy doing. It's all here in this book.

Definitely worth reading for anyone who is not totally satisfied with their work life.
How To Enjoy Your Job - A Gem, a Triumph !!! 12 July 2008
By C. J. R. Bleier - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
This book is a gem, a triumph! My congratulations to its author.

Joanna Penn has produced a book which is easy to read, to the point, brimming with life skills and wisdom. It is long enough to have depth, yet short enough not to bore. It is an ideal read, say, on a plane journey, or in a couple of evenings at home, or commutes to and from work,

`How To Enjoy Your Job' is so much more than its title suggests! The cover does not hint at the treasure within. This book is a no-nonsense self-help manual for those wishing to: apply for a job or set goals; develop additional marketable skills and then use those new-found skills in order to secure a more challenging role within a current workplace, or, to enable one to move to another company in a more senior role; It teaches stress management, people management and how to avoid feeling trapped; It trains us how to deal money in a way that gives us more options in life and thus increase our happiness; It discusses happiness and its components; And it teaches us to relax and ESCAPE...............!

I wholeheartedly believe this publication should be essential reading for every senior high school student contemplating their career and should also be issued to every employee upon joining a company.

I am certainly going back for a second read!
Life changing 6 July 2008
By Jonathan - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
How can I objectively review a book that made such a difference to my life? To say that I did not enjoy my job would be somewhat of an understatement! Reading this book gave me a process that defined my problems and charted a strategy to solve them. The book is rich with tools, methods and wisdom that helped me direct my efforts to achieve the wonderful situation I find myself in today. In addition to being easy to read and thoroughly practical, I award the book five stars based on outcome.

I have been an office worker in different companies, in several countries and this fact seems to be the same everywhere; most people do not enjoy their jobs. Many people may never enjoy their jobs if they dont actively start moving towards what they want. "e;
