Book Description

21 Sep 2012 Dragon Kin
Some things never go away, like vile enemies, bad ale, and annoying kin. But I thought I was finished with the one dragon I'd have done anything for: Eibhear the Blue, a big, gorgeous, blue-haired beast who thinks the world belongs to him. The world and, apparently, me. So if Eibhear wants to play the caring hero and travel into the most forsaken of Gods forsaken lands to protect the one woman who doesn't need it - namely me - I'll let him. Because while I'm trying to fulfill a ridiculous quest for a pushy god, I'm going to draw this over confident warlord much too close, rekindle his fires, and enjoy every minute of his delicious defeat...

4.0 out of 5 stars great to see Izzy finaly get her man...dragon! 9 Sep 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I love the Dragon Kin series and laugh at loud at these books they are full of action great one liners and put downs and a hea at the end so for me always a great read and this one was another winner, I think G A Aiken was clever to not give this book too much romance, we knew at some point Izzy and Eibhear were going to get there HEA so I think if this book had, had loads of build up to that point readers would of got bored so for me thumbs up for the way the pair just seem to get their with each other.

This one starts off 10 years after the last book ended so Talan, Talwyn and Rhi are all teenagers and starting to realise their powers and strengths and this also sets up the future for their books (fingers crossed) later down the line and I can't wait!. They were scary and laugh out loud funny as kids and look to be even more as adults. all the characters are here, so we get to catch up with them including a few new ones.

We all knew Izzy and Eibhear were going to end up together since she first pulled his hair way back in book 2 of the series but after the two falling out at the end of the last book and Eibhear losing his friend in the last battle he went off to fight and is one changed dragon, bigger stronger and a better fighter than his brothers as he has become a Mi-Runach, the group of elite dragons who go and fight the wars no others want to fight. He still has his ever famous blue hair, and his love of books. He's ordered to go home and along the way he vists his sister and she tells him to go to the location where Izzy and her troops are currently fighting ogers and get her home where she is needed. He does and even after not seeing Izzy for 10 years, they start straight away bickering and pocking at each other.

Eibhear always tried to keep Izzy at arms length as he thought she was like a neice to him so even though he had feelings for her and knew she felt the same he wouldnt act on them, but 10 years and a changed dragon later and Eibhear wants Izzy they still annoy each other its just now they are having sex too!

There is a lot going on here for the next books the main thing being, the twins Talan and Talwyn now 18 years old and Rhianwen who has amazing powers she cant control. They still have the connection between the three of them and the twins are constantly watching Rhi to protect her from her magic, The only person that can help Rhi is her grandmother, who kicked out Izzy and Rhi's mum when she was 16 and pregnant so Talaith and Izzy hate her. This is another big focus in the book, Izzy and Eibhear must travel into the dangerous Desert Lands to gain a meeting with the witch and see if she can be trusted to train Rhi to handle her powers beforew she hurts someone she cares about (like the twins).

As always, the whole family fight constantly, they hurl fists and insults at each other while happily killing people and farm animals if they get a bit hungry, I love the way they are when they are all in the same room and I will be the 1st in line for the next book who ever it is about like all the books in this series you are never let down if you like to laugh out loud and get a great story with loads of action and a drop of romance this is the series for you start at book one to get the full enjoyment and keep going I know you wont be let down!

3.0 out of 5 stars Not enough Izzy and Eibhear 7 Oct 2012
By Dobsew
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I have been looking forward to How to Drive a Dragon Crazy coming out for ages. It is Izzy and Eibhear's story and for those fans of the Dragon Kin series, this relationship has been bubbling away since Izzy first appeared in the series in book two.

There are a lot of different threads running through this book and as this is the last story tying up all the Dragon Kin with their mates, a new direction has been foreseen in this book with the new babes who are now fully grown.

I really enjoyed getting back into the comfort of the Dragon Kin series and reading all about the characters and what they've been doing since the previous book. My only disappointment was that there wasn't enough interaction between Izzy and Eibhear, but that's for my own indulgence because I adore the banter between the two of them, they make me laugh out loud.

G A Aiken has a way with words that brings the reader straight into the world she has created with such ease and with so many likeable characters it is always sad when the book ends because you know you have to wait awhile for the next one to come out.

Dragon Kin is a great series and well worth a read.

1.0 out of 5 stars A real dissapointment 12 Dec 2012
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
Like a lot of people I waited with bated breath for this story. All I got was a lot of random chaos, its the only book where the fated mates are just bit players in their own book. Quite frankly why bother if Izzy and Eihbear are just the after thought. Every other pair gave us details of their branding which I eagerly awaited but got nothing. The major brawl I was expecting in the castle when the pair announced their mating never happened. If this had followed her usual path the women would have been celebrating whilst watching their dragons bash each other sensless. The whole thing just got glossed over in favour of chucking in all sorts of irrelevant rubbish. They didn't even get a mention in their own epilogue. It was almost like G A was trying to cram about three books into one. If she was going to write a book about Izzy and Eihbear she should have done it properly with a few threads linking the 3 kids then write their respective books. I loved these books but if G A can't do better than this I don't think I will bother. After building us up for this match between the two it just turned into a huge pile of disappointing gibberish. What was her publisher thinking? The whole thing needs to be rewritten with Izzy and Eihbear actually in it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not the best but still laugh-out-loud funny in places
Have to agree with one of the US reviewers here - it felt like a 'background' story, putting things in place for the next stage of the story arc. Read more
