This book is a must have for every kitchen, and especially for those who love to socialise. The `Cucumber martini' was the perfect antidote to a scorching summers day, and tips for improvements on the old classics, like the G&T, made all the difference. I found the style informative without being pretentious, with basic general information about spirits, and necessary nuggets such as how to choose the right wine or recognise whether it has past its peak. Unusual information, such as how to make ice cubes in a hurry, was useful, and it answers some of life's most confusing questions such as what is the difference between the various types of tea are. I loved the easy to use summary at the end, and the scattered recipes for accompaniments throughout. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
