Four different versions of the same song by LeAnn Rimes might seem overkill, but there is enough difference between each track to make the whole very interesting. It might well be that the various versions were recorded for consideration by the makers of the movie 'Con-Air'as the song figured prominently in it.
As it turned out, the movie-makers preferred the version by Trisha Yearwood and for me, they were right, as Yearwood evokes a more heart-searching mood in the way she sings it than does Rimes. LeAnn Rimes has a great deal more power and range than Yearwood but has a tendency to introduce unnecessary ups, downs and extra words in her versions which detract from the required impact of the actual wording. She also adds in the chorus too often to give it the impact that Yearwood achieves. Nevertheless, the Rimes CD is well worth the price to make the comparison.
