2.0 out of 5 stars Okay, but nothing special 22 Sep 2011
By Willem
This book is a typical introduction book for newcomers to digital photography. It gives a nice introduction to equipment and concepts, but it is a bit overambitious. It won't tell you how to do EVERYTHING and it definitely won't make you shoot like a PRO.

What it does do well is that it provides many tips on how to shoot in different settings (indoors, portraits, sports) and it offers an introduction in photo editing. But because it tries to cover everything, nothing is covered in detail and therefore it fails to keep things interesting for anyone but newcomers to photography.
Unless didn't know that you digital cameras don't need film and that you create better photos if you don't put your finger in front of the lens, you might not get much value out of this book.

This book has taught me to take amazingly better photos and easily get them out of my camera for all my family to enjoy.

It is THE "A TO Z" book on digital photography for both novices and semi-pros. I found this book easy to read and understand as it unlocks the secrets and techniques of digital photography. You will not regret this purchase.

Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I thought this was a good book but very basic and for a beginner. I wasn't looking for anything super technical and advanced but this didn't tell me much I didn't already know. Easy to understand with illustrations.

5.0 out of 5 stars Must Have For All Photographers 19 Mar 2012
By garrick06 - Published on
Before reading this book, I thought I did a pretty good job at editing my photographs and sending them off to get developed. However, I found out that there were easier and funner ways to edit my photos. I would recommend this book to those who are new to photography as well as those who want to learn easier ways of editing. The photos are in color too!

The book is also compatible for both Mac and PC users too!
