5.0 out of 5 stars Best book I've read on the subject., 16 Jan 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: How to Detect and Manage Dyslexia: A Reference and Resource Manual (Paperback)
As the parent of a young dyslexic son, I've found this to be an incredible resource. It has helped me understand dyslexia and has offered wonderful advice that works. Best book I've read on the subject--in both the UK and US. Should be made available internationally.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent practical advice on all aspects of dyslexia, 11 Feb 2000
This review is from: How to Detect and Manage Dyslexia: A Reference and Resource Manual (Paperback)
The sub title of this book is "A reference and resource manual" and it has proved invaluable in providing teaching strategies, information about negotiating the "system" and advice for older students moving into further and higher education, as well as younger pupils. A useful summary at the end of each chapter, and important examples to support theory that dyslexia, although it presents problems in our literacy-based society, is an indication of exceptional ability in other areas.

5.0 out of 5 stars How to Detect & Manage Dyslexia - Reference & Resource Manual review, 5 Aug 2010
This review is from: How to Detect and Manage Dyslexia: A Reference and Resource Manual (Paperback)
This book was recommended by a specialist dyslexia teacher, as the best book on the market for the condition, and she was right. Covers all the things you want to know as a parent, but forget to ask at the time, gives great insight into the condition, how the brain processes information, and recommends strategies to help overcome this difficulty. Equally good as a reference book for research, includes some really good quotes, and gives sources of further information should the reader like to know more.
