1.0 out of 5 stars Seems very much DIY 7 July 2009
By Archbold Jake VINE™ VOICE
I am sure that this was intended to be a worthy effort. It certainly seems DIY, however. The picture quality is very poor, suggesting that this was not a professional set up. There are short snatched views and the commentary is similarly short providing little helpful information.

My wife thought I was being unkind, and that the DVD was aimed at those with a bit of knowledge. Well if it was, they would not need the little that comes out of this disc. For unpractised amateurs who, for example, start hanging a door, I fear that great trouble lies ahead ".....Get a door which is appropriate for the frame....Some doors will need re-sizing to fit..." (not exact quotes, but a flavour of how the obvious is stated with no actual information being imparted). Likewise, being told to mark the position of the hinges, without telling people the distance where hinges should be placed, is likely to lead to problems.

Frankly, I think you would be better off NOT watching the DVD - at least you are more likely to seek assistance from a friend or neighbour who has had actual experience in such matters.
