The book is ideally suited to those of us who love the natural way with horses as shown by Parelli and Clinton Anderson and other western riders, yet desire to ride in traditional English dressage and compete in Gymkhanas as well enjoy a relaxed hack across the lanes and bridleways of England. The techniques, exercises, shown by Perry Wood complement those of the western and take the rider beyond into the realms they dream of achieving. The book teaches us to ride as a partner for our horse, the one he would choose for himself with intuitiveness, understanding and without fear. As natural horse people we continue our journey of being able to communicate with our horses. And that gives the real depth of satisfaction to our pleasureable hobby. Perry loves spending time with his horses. They are not vehicles, but each horse has its own individuality, (horsesnality) and by spending time a strong bond of trust and understanding can grow.

This is a fantastic book for all those people who want to try or want to develope the natural horsemanship way of training. Very well illustrated with clear explanations of each technique showing why and when to use the technique. Perry Wood also explains what the horse is doing (or not doing) in each case photo. Perry Wood uses traditional types of training; long lining, lunging etc, but with a new natural, less forceful approach. A must have guide, even if you have a "perfect" horse you may find a liitle more perfection hidden after reading and using this book. A bargain!
