I was fortunate enough to recently attend a short course at CSM with Vincent as the tutor and found his teaching to be very inspirational, practical and affirming. I left feeling I had significantly moved on with my character design, and also that we had been taught by an old master!

Vincent's book has been a great tool for compounding the skills and information I learned whilst on the course. I can also see the book being an excellent introduction to anyone who wishes to approach the art of character design from scratch.

- The illustrations are interesting, varied and skillfully drawn

- The text is simple, clear and instructional enough to provide the solid basics in character design and cartooning.

I can recommend this book for anyone wishing to start designing and drawing characters, whatever the age. This book seeks only to inspire, not to intimidate.
