I ate a meal based on a recipe from this book at a friends house and then devoted myself to hunting down a copy for myself. This book is the most comprehensive introduction to Italian food available. The recipes are simple to follow and the results are wonderful.
The text has been repackaged and reprinted a number of times, so check that you don't already have it in a different jacket before you order.

This is an amazing book! I wish I could give one to every friend and family member who cooks! There is a wealth of information on pastas, cheeses, beans, meats, grains, and more, in the first half of the book and wonderful recipes in the last. You won't be sorry if you buy this book!!
