Review

"Wood′s treatment of these perplexing issues is straightforward. He does not burden readers with philosophical jargon, does not bore readers with esoteric details, and does not offer simplistic answers...Wood brings the analytic mind of a psychologist to his book without the cluttering style of academic psychologese which undergraduates generally abhor" Scott G. A really good book, with user-friendly chapters making it ideal for use in academic research. However, once I started to read it I couldn't put it down it makes a fascinating read, and helped me to understand children's minds.

this book is both easy to understand, and an excellent tool that all developmental psychology and educational psychology students should own. The chapters are easily identified, and each subject is dealt with in a way which makes references to the subject easily accessible.

This work is essential for anyone embarking on a career in education, or anyone who is passionate about this field. Wood provides great insight into the myriad ways children process information at a variety of stages. Furthermore, he emphasises and re-emphasises salient points, reinforcing the strength of his argument. Highly recommended!
