Jill Saxon: Study Guide for Eisenberg's How Children Develop, First Edition. 10 April 2012
By Stephen E. Buggie - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
I teach a college course on child psychology with the Eisenberg textbook. The book is excellent, and the study guide is very good. I use many of the study guide questions on quizzes and tests, and students are informed about this in advance. The study guide is mostly multiple choice, with some matching. The study guide author, Jill Saxon, also wrote the instructor's test bank. Curiously, the test bank questions are much worse than the study guide questions. I too have written textbook supplements; my guess about the difference in quality between the test bank and study guide is that, perhaps, the author worked under a stressful tight deadline to do the test bank, but more time may have been allowed for the study guide. My criticism of the study guide is that it is brief. With textbook supplements, "size matters," so a bigger study guide would be more useful.
