5.0 out of 5 stars Very informative and put's the path into perspective., 20 April 2006

Fantastic book to have which outlines everything that you need to know about becoming a Clinical Psychologist from the experience that you need (and can start getting while you're an undergrad) to the application procedure and interviews.

Every psychology teacher should have a copy on their shelf for students to browse through as it really puts things into place and gives a true account of the hoops that you have to jump through to get onto a Clinical Doctorate course.

Well worth a read and every college library should have one.

4.0 out of 5 stars Informative and easy read for future clinical psychologists., 4 Nov 2002
By A Customer
As a third year undergraduate of psychology I found this book both informative and easy to read. The layout of the book made it easy to dip into, making it easy to find quick answers to queries without having to read lengthy chapters. Written by somebody who has been through the process of applying for assisstant psychologist post, the book gives an honest view of the procedures and offers helpful tips to aid application and interviews.
The book also laid out useful information about applying for clinical doctorate courses, and gave lists of addresses future applicants will find helpful.
The only thing I felt was lacking from this publication was advice on funding for clinical courses. I would have found such information very useful.
Overall this was a well presented, informative and easy to read book which I would recommend to anyone thinking about a career in clinical pychology.

5.0 out of 5 stars Exactly what i needed, 2 May 2009
By A. Warner (Leicester. England) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
As a struggling psychology undergraduate, this book was exactly what I needed to give me direction and focus. I knew I wanted to go into clinical psychology but I had only a vague idea of how one did it. I presumed it was a lot simpler than it is.
This book describes in great detail each step of the way and is honest about certain things that perhaps lectures wouldn't tell you. It was a pleasant read and has provided me a basis for my next 5 years of study and work experience.

I would recommend this book to anyone who has a interest in anything to do with clinical psychology. You will find no better guide to the long and often perplexing application process.
